Like Japanese Boy!

Mummy took me to Dr. Chow, one of the best skin specialist in KL and look at me now! My itchy eczema almost gone and my skin so soft, smooth and fair like tofu.
See? I look like Japanese boy now...
Right?

Must Brush Teeth!

Dentist say must brush teeth twice a day. Mummy says I must start early to have this good habit even when I don't have teeth yet.
Otherwise if I don't have good oral hygiene, I will end up like this when older - like old man with no teeth!

What's Christmas to me

My Mummy has been bringing me to many places to see Christmas trees, bright lights and colourful decorations!

This was at IOI Mall, the shopping mall nearest to my new home now. Why are the leaves so red?

Ohhhh...I try to sit in the trolley but Mummy has to stuff a lot of padding around me so I don't fall out of the trolley which I almost did on the Ikea trolley. This picture was at Great Eastern Mall where Mummy bought me my favourite fruit - avocados!

See, see, I'm always so happy going shopping coz I get to see so many new things!

OHhhhh...white Christmas tree!

Night Out!

I am 7 (months) today! Daddy said i am a big boy already. A big baby boy :). We all went out for dinner @ this Indonesian restaurant in Bandar Puteri, Puchong. It is called Anggrek Kuring. Since my daddy like things Indonesia, aunty San has recommended this restaurant to him. This is the 1st time i stay out so late at night. :)

Notes from daddee : All in all, a restaurant that served good authentic Indonesian food. They even have apokat jus (avacado juice). The green sambal chilli was hot as usual. Portions of food are generous. The use of Javanese batik cloth beneath a sheet of plastic as table top brings out the right Indonesian ambience to this eatery. They even plays Gamelan music at the background. Price wise, is medium & comes with 10% gov tax.

I am so cheeky!

Poke Mummy's eye! No wonder her eyebags never disappear.

Sleep!

Don't disturb me, I want to sleep!

Hide and Seek!

One of my favourite games! A- Cak!

Itchy You Know!

My Mummy and Daddy try almost everything on Earth but my eczema will not disappear. What to do, I am the high class baby, need to be in aircond all the time, need to eat in restaurants and cafes with aircond and need to play in cool places. Itchy you know!

Pirate of the Carribean!

Look at me..am I not the big boy?

I am a BOY!

Mummy and Daddy is getting sick of people asking if I am a girl or boy. In fact when I went to Ikea, this woman kept saying to her daughter, "Say hello to girl girl. See, girl girl so cute. Hello girl girl." Mummy purposely wore a shirt for me that day and still this woman kept saying I'm a girl!

So today, Mummy took me to the Indian barber and here I am, looking like a BOY now! Mummy also took me to Jaya Jusco and bought long pants for me. Now I won't look like a girl anymore. ;P

So many new things!

I've learnt to spit - phooey! Last Saturday, Mummy and Daddy took me to MPH bookstore and I spit on the new book. That's not as worse yet because I can really spit hard and my saliva will just spray on one big area. At least I don't drool on my shirt when I spit! But Mummy said I am a naughty boy because when she told me to spit on her house buyer's kids the other day, I didn't do it. I just gave them the wide-eyed stare....

I've also found my toes....wriggly wriggly toes....I love to count them and try to put them in my mouth!

My Name Is Khyentse.

My parents named me Khyentse. (Pronounced "Khen" "Zee"). Apparently they went through many names and many months and still couldn't come up with a name of their choice. There was a list but then somehow, those names are just not the one. My soon-to-be godfather suggested to my parents of using Tibetan names. My parents like the idea and have him suggested few. Those names were calculated based on which month i will be borned (april or may). However, my father don't really feel those names are suitable for me. No names were choosen before i arrived. On the first day i cried my first cry, father sort of inspired to name me "Khyentse". After consulted mother, both of them agreed that this would how i will be named.

The name wasn't in the the calculated list . It was however, suggested by my godfather earlier and is a name used by those revered Tibetan gurus. Khyentse is a combination of 2 Tibetan words, 'Khyen' means wisdom and "Tse' means compassion or loving.

Note from Daddee : I wish my boy the wisdom to do the right things & i wish him the love to handle the heart when it is tough to do the right things.

Stupid Eczema!

I've been ploughed real hard with eczema. I have discolouration on my body and scaly skin all around :( Who says all babies have smooth skin? Mummy massages me with baby oil every day and puts baby lotion for me twice a day but my skin is still dry. Dr. Ong has given me two bottles of medicated cream but it only helps supress the itchiness for a while. Sometimes at night, I wake Mummy up coz I'm scratching all over till I bleed and Mummy don't like to see blood over my forehead and legs.

But hey, new itch-free, scratch-free days are ahead of me - Mummy bought some Chinese herbs to bathe me in every day and it seems to be working. Last night, I slept 5 hours straight without waking anyone up!

J&J's Massage Session

Mummy took me to Sunway Hotel last Sunday. It was the Johnson & Johnson's Massage Therapy session and there were so many babies! This was the first time that I sat in my car seat in the car as it was a long journey. I love my car seat but Mummy said it was no good because the safety belt didn't work.

Anyway, after the registration counter, Mummy took me to the foot print counter to make some footprints - you know like those doggie footprint designs you see. The people there tickled me when they painted my foot blue and then yellow. Yucks! They even dirtied my new shoes! I started screaming at them....

Anyway, the massage therapy was boring for me because there were just too many people and screaming kids and Mummy scared me off by showing me the black baby dummy. I kept bluffing Mummy that I wanted milk so she could walk me out of the room to the nursing room and I could look at pretty paintings on my way there and pretty lights above me in the room.

In the end, when it was practice time for the massage, I fell asleep. Grandma said the conductor wanted to use me as her model but I was sleeping by then.

The only thing I liked about the trip was the walk to the shopping mall after to get my new car seat. Yay, Mummy bought me the green one which I had my eye on!

A trip to the Shopping Mall!

I went on my frist trip to the shopping mall yesterday! Well, it wasn't really my first but the first 'mall' was the hideous one near the house to buy my cap and Grandpa's birthday cake, so that isn't counted.

Mummy was supposed to buy her acidophilus/lactobacillus yesterday. I hope I can pronounce these words someday. But anyway, Mummy went to the wrong shopping mall so I helped Mummy choose a pair of pants instead. I also went to see fake flowers, household items and toys! Wow....there were so many shiny forks and spoons and the glittering lights really caught my eyes. Then there's the music box at Lovely Lace but Mummy said the ballerina music box is for little girls so she went to the toy shop and chose an elephant pull string instead.

Too bad I didn't get to see puppies and kittens and fish. The Pet Store was closed for renovations but Mummy said she'll bring me to the zoo when I'm six months old!

Mummy carried me facing out in the Baby Bjorn carrier and I love kicking my legs in the air. It is my first time in the Baby Bjorn and I laughed when Mummy tried to put me in it because it all seems so funny!

I Can Sit Up!

I learnt how to sit up! Even when I cannot fully balance my head. Mummy or Ahmah will place me on their lap with their knees up and hold my hands. I love lifting my head and body up! It gives me a lot of exercise and of course I can see so many things go by in this position. But Ahmah said I musn't do this too many times because my back may bend as my body is not strong enough...boo hoo hoo!

I like to Sit Upright!

ello..nowadays, i like to sit upright so that i can have better view of things around me. But then, i still need a pair of hands to help me balance up. What to do, i am only 2 months old :p
Note from Daddee : He is getting very cheeky! Geramnya...eeeeeeeeee

My First Virus Infection

Ah Kong gave something to me the other day - his flu. I have blocked nose and cough. It seems Mummy and Daddy have to bring me to Doctor Ong every week! Doctor Ong says there's no medication for me coz I'm too young and I can only use saline as nose drops to clear my nose. Mummy has to put me higher up when I'm sleeping otherwise I cannot breathe!

So here I am, sleeping on the sofa like a grown up with my head on the arm rest pillow.

Daddy's 'Lucky' Day

Today, I finally slept on daddy's arm for the 1st time!
Note from daddee : Khyentse sleeps like his mother. Head resting on the hand.

Full moon, Mini tarts & Me

Daddy gave his colleagues mini tarts for my fullmoon. Everyone was asking how to pronounce my name! Daddy said "Khyentse" is the Tibetan word for wisdom & compassion. And it is pronounce like "Ken" "Zee". As for my chinese name, daddy still awaits his grandma to come up with one i.e. waiting for my great grandmother to install a chinese name for me.
Note from daddy : So bored with the typical fullmoon package of sticky rice & curry chicken. Opted for mini tarts for a change. Nevertheless, the must-have 'ang koo kueh" and red egg is still a must.

My favourite facial expression

Look at me, Mummy, I can whistle!

I Scare People

My role these days is to give everyone a scare. First, I tremble, both hands and legs till Grandma thinks it's abnormal. Then my face is still yellow after more than a month. I also wheeze in the aircond like I have asthma or something. Mummy is afraid that she's passed on her asthma to me. So yesterday, they all brought me to a special doctor. Unfortunately, the doctor says I'm a normal kid and that I'm yellow because I've been bathing too much yellow herbal flower bath for the past month. Jeez...so my secret is out. No one gets scared by me anymore.

Diaper Years

I (& My parents) will remember my younger years as diaper years. For in any given day, i could have used up to 10-15 diapers or more. No thanks to my inability to control my bowel. Passing motion (& urinating) is quite an automatic process. If i have to go, i have to go! And right after doing my business, i will make sure my parents know about it (by crying out loud!).

Interestingly, we (babies) tend to answer the call of nature more often than adults. And we don't answer it on a schedule. We have routines but none is really on fix time.

ps. I am using napkins too, especially daytime.
Note from daddee : If babies can be potty-trained, diapers manufacturer can go bankrupt!.

My Anne Geddes pose

This is my so-called Anne Geddes baby pose. It's also my favourite burping pose. Daddy says it's just like Mummy when she sleeps with hands under the chin!

Yellow Banana Boy

I developed jaundice on my 3rd day. They poked my foot with a needle and took some blood for me. It is painful.

Mummy cries because she was ready to go home and yet I can't go home. I have to be under this blue light called phototheraphy. It's so hot under the blue light and they cover both my eyes with black mask like Zorro. They also covered my head with white strofoam, the ones that people use to wrap around apples or pears at the fruit shop.

I have to be under the light for 24 hours. Even when I'm awake, I can't open my eyes because of the black mask. It is horrible because I can't be wheeled to Mummy's room anymore. I get to see Mummy and Daddy only for 10 minutes, three times a day. Mummy decided to stay back because she can't bear to go home without me.

The next day, they poked my foot again and tested my jaundice level. It was still 10 and the doctor said it's better to be under the blue lights for another 24 hours. Mummy said the doctor just wanted to earn some money because I wasn't that yellow but anyway, just to be safe, Daddy and her stayed another night with me at the hospital. Mummy's got baby blues because of this and every time she thinks of me under the blue lights, she cries.

Thankfully, my jaundice level went down after two days after phototheraphy. I went home with Mummy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa. That wasn't the end of my jaundice though coz I was so yellow again after that. I'm trying my best to be pink. Grandma holds me under the sun every morning till I get tanned. I am no more the little pink baby. I am so tanned, almost like Mummy was when she went sunbathing in Bali.

New tricks

I learnt that I was always wheeled in to Mummy's room whenever I started howling even after I was fed. So that night, I howled. I was fed by Mummy and wheeled back into the baby room. I tried a new trick - howling half hour later and true enough, I was wheeled to Mummy again. The nurse told Mummy that I wanted to feed again - hahaha. Mummy was surprised and tried to feed me lying down. It was funny coz I wouldn't feed but slept under Mummy's armpit right away.

My Day

I was taking my morning nap in this early morning on the 6th of May, 2008 as usual when I felt a cold drift of air. A pair of hands carried me out of my warm habitat. That was when I knew I was out of my comfy home, into this thing called World. Why? Why can't I stay till I decide to come out?

I howled like crazy, missing my old comfy home. The 'terrorists' did some IQ tests on me. Hey, I ain't stupid you know. I practiced all these in my habitat for 38 weeks. I scored 9 out of 10..hmmph...I hate my doctor already. Daddy was cooing at me as soon as he saw me. I was cleaned and brought to see my Mummy just for a while. Oh...so this is how she looks like...

I decided to keep on howling till they release Mummy out 45 minutes later just to spite the terrorists. I was later brought to Mummy's room where I can hear the whole clan of family cooing at me. It's cute how their language turns into baby language when they see me.

I was only wheeled in and out throughout the day coz Mummy could not move her legs. I'm so gonna miss the evening walks that Mummy usually takes with me.

I learnt a new trick that day. Whenever I howled, they wheeled me to Mummy. So, I howled...the whole day through. Haha...
